Born into a privileged family Mendelsohn
was able to develop his talents from an early age. He was an
immensely successful musician, always in demand as conductor,
teacher and performer.

In some ways Comedian Harmonists
might be called the first German boy group. Inspired by American
'The Revelers' Harry Frommermann published an ad in a local
newspaper, auditioned and finally founded the famous ensemble.

Born in Eastern Germany her family moved
to Western Germany in the 1970s. There, Nina Hagen became an
immensely popular punk rock legend and even gained international
reputation.
